In the context of a two-week production residency as part of an ongoing open-call residency initiative at EMPAC, Norwegian dance company Ella Fiskum Danz presents Triptych 0811, a work in progress exploring the inner life of dreams, reality, and ambition.

With a live performance by Norwegian rock guitar legend Ronni Le Tekrż and innovative stage design by Serge von Arx, three diverse dance soloists perform together, interacting in a theatrical dreamscape.

Ella Christina Fiskum (artistic director, choreographer, dancer) hails from Trondheim, Norway. She studied ballet at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, privately under Natalia Papina in St. Petersburg, and at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart. From 1997 to 2004 she choreographed four full-length productions, as well as several solo performances. Her works have integrated a variety of mediums in unconventional settings including directing/choreographing two church operas, four major site-specific performance-installations, and a duet. Fiskum has worked as a dancer since 1992 for major choreographers and companies in Norway and Canada, and later was producer for an international project. She founded Ella Fiskum Danz in Oslo in 2000.

Produced by Ella Fiskum Danz in collaboration with Kay Grigar (New York). Booking and manager for le Tekrż Đ Stig Nedreberg.

This project was supported by the Arts Council Norway, Fond for Lyd og Bilde, Fond for Utżvende Kunstnere, the Foreign Ministry (UD and DTS), Oslo Teatersenter, Den Norske Ballettskole, Royal Norwegian Consulate General New York, and EMPAC the Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (Troy, NY) artist-in-residence production support.

lineup..

9:30 Ryan Kick
11:30 Space, Time, and Spacetime

Summer ain't over yet. We're keeping it going tonight, warm fuzzies and all. Ryan Kick starts it bringing it way back with an all-vinyl set. It's like all the summer's wrapped up into one night. And as an extra treat, he'll be signing your vinyl on the patio after his set. A rare treat indeed...

Space, Time, and Spacetime is the DJ Duo of back from japan and il-young. Separate they both play dancetastic beats from hip hop to house. Together they play some freaked out disco sh*t, smooth like 10 million pounds of global strategic maple syrup. 9 out of 10 physicists agree:

"Gamma-Ray Photon Observations Indicate Space-Time Is Smooth."

That's right. Google it. Boom.
