[HvEXAS] BEEFHEART guitarist to perform at PROCTORS

Gary Lucas, former guitarist for CAPTAIN BEEFHEART, will perform a solo concert AND also perform his original score to Dryer's 1932 vampire classic, VAMPYR at Proctors on Saturday, November 13.

ABOUT GARY LUCAS
"one of the best and most original guitarists in America" - Rolling Stone.
"the thinking man's guitar hero" - The New Yorker
"one of the most innovative and challenging guitarists playing today" - fRoots

ABOUT VAMPYR
Following the 1928 release of his PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, director Dreyer began production on VAMPYR. Featuring a female vampire, Dreyer's film did not make it to screens until a full year after 1931's DRACULA gave Bela Lugosi his most iconic role. Still, the nightmarish VAMPYR made a significant impression, being discussed and dissected to this day at art museums, film schools, and in dark, mysterious roadside taverns. Not so much about the vampire or even her destruction, VAMPYR explores the eerie, the unreal, the dark dreadful dreamlike shadow world within which evil incomprehensibly - yet inevitably - lurks.
