FESTIVAL onedotzero_adventur Friday, April 30 – Sunday, May 2 Three Day Screening pass = $10 The London-based onedotzero_adventur Back-to-back screenings of onedotzero's latest compilation programs will be shown in the EMPAC Theater over the entire weekend, creating the foundation for the festival and another reason to stick around the building until the wee hours - and then come back to do it again the next day! Some other highlights of the weekend include: Diplo »Friday 04/30, 11 PM The first night of the festival will feature a live performance by DJ superstar Diplo with a cadre of the area's best VJs. Saturday 05/01, 9 PM The following night, there will be a screening of Diplo's directorial feature debut Favela on Blast, which was filmed in the slums of Rio de Janeiro and focuses on the musical / cultural phenomenon Baile Funk - one of the many inspirations behind his beats. AntiVJ » performance: Saturday 05/01, 8 PM International visual label AntiVJ will be present a new performance / installation that mines their common interest in using light projections on architectural structures, 3D mapping and "live painting" with projections. The installation remains open throughout the entire festival. Brian Alfred: It's Already the End of the World Saturday 05/01 + Sunday 05/02 A video installation by Brian Alfred whose work is inspired by his interest in globalization, civil unrest, political and social opposition, and influential figures and locations. The animation will feature multiple soundtracks by musicians Flying Lotus, Ghislain Poirier, Roberto Carlos Lange, and many others. Children ages 3-13 get in free with an adult! onedotzero_cascade w/ Rensselaer Sunday 05/02, 2:30 PM onedotzero_cascade is an ongoing education project, creating a different model for creative learning that plugs students from all backgrounds and disciplines into the heart of the creative industries.
